Evangelist Bridget Blucher
For National Thanksgiving Service
When the nation gathers on Sunday 26th October for the Independence National Thanksgiving Service, an international Gospel recording artist with strong Caribbean roots will also be in attendance as the Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer special Guest of Honor. Evangelist Bridget Blucher, who participated in Jubilation a few years ago, will return to the island for the church service with songs from her albums such as Shout for Joy, Ride Our Your Storm, Winners by Choice, No Weapon, My Ghana Experience, Under His Wings and Speak to Me. The church service will be held at the Spring Gardens Moravian Church and commences at 4:00 PM. Blucher, a native of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, has so far recorded nine albums and resides in Florida with her family. Evangelist Blucher began singing in church and is well known for her unique style in ministry where she has the ability to marry praise and worship with rhythmic Caribbean essence. Blucher has received several awards for outstanding work in the singing arena. In 2002 she received the New York Caribbean Gospel Music Awards for Best Female Vocalist of the Year (2002) and in 2001 she received from the same organization an award for Female Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year and album of the Year. The sermon will be delivered by Pastor Carson Greene of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, while their will be other performances by Sanctuary Chorale, Nadine Blackman and National Choir of Antigua & Barbuda There will also be a session of prayer of intercession and dedication during the service. The service is being planned by a cross section of Christian ministers and program is being spearheaded by the Ecclesiastical Affairs Department of the Prime Minister’s Office.
